Leonardo DiCaprio is not new to ambitious ventures, but one of his more low-key investments has been quietly unfolding along Israel’s coastline. Back in 2018, he joined hands with the country’s Hagag Group and developers Ahikam and Like Cohen on a luxury hotel project in Herzliya Marina, holding a 10 percent stake in the development. After years of being in limbo, the project has finally taken a major step forward, signaling real progress behind the scenes, per The Jerusalem Post.
The hold-up reportedly came largely from a request to expand the building rights, which grew from an initial 10,000 square meters to an approved 51,000 square meters. With final approval now granted by the local authority, the project will include a 14-floor hotel with 365 rooms and underground parking. For Leonardo DiCaprio, whose net worth in 2025 stands at an estimated $300 million, it marks a significant move, attaching his name to one of Israel’s most high-profile coastal developments. Meanwhile, a fresh development has jeopardized the actor’s residence back in the United States.
As his Israeli investment finally moves forward, concerns are quietly growing about the security of Leonardo DiCaprio’s home in the States.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s U.S. abode faces environmental risk
Following a massive 8.8 earthquake off Russia’s Pacific coast, tsunami alerts have been issued in the United States. The warning extends to areas like Hawaii, California, and Alaska, placing several celebrity homes in high-risk zones. Oprah Winfrey’s 1,000-acre Maui estate was listed to be at risk. Leonardo DiCaprio’s Malibu house is vulnerable. Katy Perry and Jennifer Aniston, who have properties in Montecito, also face the threat of losing their nests.

Many celebrities who now face a tsunami threat braved the California wildfires earlier this year that killed at least 30 people and scorched over 18,000 structures. Over 200,000 people had to evacuate. So, as Leonardo DiCaprio received good news on a business investment, he encountered a challenge on the non-professional side. Hopefully, the latter aspect of his life will not be affected much.
