As Marvel steadily ventures into the darker, grittier territory of superheroes, they have ignited the imagination of fans who crave more mature-themed projects. It may take some time until those dreams are made into reality. However, that has not stopped their fans from holding on to hope. Here are a few projects that fans are hoping to see on a big screen soon:

Wolverine

While the world thought they had said their goodbyes to the X-Men character in 2017’s Logan, Ryan Reynolds ended up changing that. After he brought Hugh Jackman back as the iconic character for Deadpool 3, fans are hoping that the MCU will be bringing the mutant for one final hurray. With the 55-year-old retiring from his beloved role, the speculations for a new Wolverine have been swirling.

From rumors that Daniel Radcliff could potentially take over the role to speculation of a stand-alone film featuring Hugh Jackman, fans of the character have been thrown for a spin. While there is a long list of actors who could play Wolverine and do an outstanding job, the world is still not ready to part ways with Jackman’s portrayal of the character.

However, with radio silence from the MCU, fans may have to wait a little while longer before the highly-anticipated film receives an update.

Punisher

In the past, the Punisher’s presence in the MCU has been primarily on the small screen. However, the prospect of a film dedicated to the character’s story has been a hot topic among fans and enthusiasts. After many memorable portrayals in the Netflix series and a stint in The Punisher, fans have been vocal about their desire to see the vigilante brought into the MCU in a standalone film.

While Frank Castle’s character could delve into the darker and more morally ambiguous realm of Marvel, that has only excited fans further. There are already 3 Punisher films that came out years ago. However, none of them are connected to the Marvel universe. While a film of their own could prove to be a game-changer, the MCU has not unveiled any such plans as of yet.

Hopefully, they might have a change of heart soon and give the people what they want. However, there is also a possibility of the film never seeing the light of day.

Daredevil

Over the years, there is one character who has garnered a dedicated fanbase. In the comics, he is depicted as the crimson-clad vigilante who patrols the streets of Hell’s Kitchen. It is the Marvel’s Daredevil. Although fans have seen a memorable portrayal of the character by Charlie Cox in the Netflix series, the desire for a standalone Daredevil film has grown louder with each passing day.

It could give audiences a better look at the character’s history and other storylines. However, so far, Marvel has not come up with any film plans. Although Cox’s groundwork could pave the way for a more complex plot, nothing regarding film plans for Daredevil has been brought to light.

Ghost Rider

The world will never forget Nicholas Cage in the Ghost Rider franchise. However, it looks like the Marvel fanbase is ready for one of their own. For years, the online world has had its fingers crossed hoping for plans for an authentic comic portrayal of the antihero. While a stand-alone film could give fans various other arcs that no one knows about, it could also shed some light on his past.

As one of Marvel’s most enigmatic and visually striking antiheroes, Ghost Rider has been the subject of intense fan desire for a standalone film in the MCU. From the flaming skull to the infernal powers, the antihero’s appeal is undeniable. However, with there being multiple films based on the character already out, it does not look like Marvel has any plans for creating another one.
