Trust The Conjuring film series to herald the spooky season officially. No other modern classic horror franchise can retain its nail-digging chokehold on cinephiles like it does. From the initial spine-tingling demon possessions to apocalyptic showdowns against evil, the franchise etched its title into the genre's iconography. Each instalment builds anticipation of ghostly fear, beckoning eager viewers to the light of their screens like moths to the flame. Now that The Conjuring: Last Rites emerges from darkness, Netflix's horror library seems like its most favorable host.

Its heritage lurks around with whispers of groaning floorboards and desperate prayers, but the question is how to enjoy the terror cozying up in blankets from the safety of one's home?

The Conjuring: Last Rites has not appeared on Netflix, and probably never will. As a Warner Bros. movie, its streaming fate resides instead with HBO Max (Max), the studio's own streaming universe. Max is a proprietary unit of Warner Bros. Discovery Streaming and is the home for all major Warner Bros. releases. Following a theatrical debut on September 5, 2025, The Conjuring 4 could be found as a premium Video-on-Demand title about a standard 30–45 days later, perhaps in mid-October.

Later on, the fourth and final movie of The Conjuring series is likely to arrive on HBO Max sometime between November 2025 and January 2026. However, films like Mickey 17 and A Minecraft Movie arrived on Max three months later, so the wait for The Conjuring 4 could be a little longer. Meanwhile, for those who want to brush up on the historic franchise, The Conjuring (2013), The Conjuring 2 (2016), Annabelle Comes Home (2019), The Devil Made Me Do It (2021), and The Nun II (2023) are streaming on HBO Max. And Annabelle (2014), Annabelle: Creation (2017), and The Nun (2018) are available on Netflix. But the theatres are open to those who cannot contain their curiosity.

A fitting send-off to arguably the most consistent horror franchise in cinema history, The Conjuring: Last Rites is more than a horror sequel.

What to expect from The Conjuring: Last Rites?

The Conjuring: Last Rites is the ninth release from the iconic horror franchise, directed by its guardian, filmmaker Michael Chaves, who took over the reins of the film series from James Wan after its epic first installment. In this supposedly final entry, the plot returns with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as paranormal investigators Ed Warren and Lorraine Warren, with Mia Tomlinson and Ben Hardy. An added familial touch to the thrill of horror grounds the film, making it a frightfully perfect farewell to the franchise.

With tender chemistry blossoming amongst the cast, the film floats the idea that a greater terror hides in losing loved ones and not fighting ghosts and evil curses. Having intimate and devastating high stakes, The Conjuring: Last Rites brings heart to horror. Though not available on Netflix, a digital purchase, rent, or HBO Max is the option to stream it at home down the line. Wrapping its saga up with one final prayer, one final exorcism, and one final chill, never looked so good for Warner Bros, as per Deadline, the film is set to amass $8 million at its box-office debut, while The Conjuring universe, including spinoffs, remains the highest-grossing horror franchise in history, earning over $2.3 billion.
