While you may find hundreds of thousands of articles chronicling her life post-royalty, her résumé before royalty is not so easy to unearth. But thanks to a little Duchess confession, her portfolio before the life of royalty has surfaced again amidst her Netflix fame.

In a recent interview with Fast Company, Meghan Markle shed light on her evolving personality in the business sphere. “If I had to write a resume, I don’t know what I would call myself,” she admitted. In a plot twist, almost no one saw coming, Express.co.uk highlighted her old résumé as it resurfaced online. The monochromatic CV dates back to her days before Suits and royalty. It includes her acting credits, including a one-episode role in General Hospital (2002) as Nurse Jill and another in Century City (2004) as Natasha.

Markle also reportedly listed the “Hot Chick” in the 2005 rom-com A Lot Like Love, starring Ashton Kutcher. Additionally, the Duchess has worked in theatre with roles including Jocasta in Oedipus Rex and Sylvia in The Women. The résumé further stresses her “special skills,” consisting of fluent Spanish, French proficiency, dialects, kickboxing, ballet, tap, and jazz dancing.

In an episode of Confessions of a Female Founder, host Meghan Markle was interviewing Kitsch founder Cassandra Morales Thurswell when she took a trip down memory lane into her life before royalty and also before Suits. Recounting the living conditions back in the day, the Duchess admitted she rented a modest LA flat with a closet inside her bathroom. “You had to walk through my bedroom, past my bed, past the shower and the sink, which were right there, and the toilet, then… the door that opened into my very small closet,” she reminisced.

The Duchess of Sussex even remembered refusing a $200 pair of designer flats because it was out of her limited budget. It does not take a PhD candidate to make out how far Markle has truly come. With her multi-million dollar ventures, Netflix productions, and a thriving lifestyle brand, Markle is a shining example of grit and resilience in the fleeting world of showbiz.
