Ryan Reynolds Beats Taylor Swift in This Surprising Fan Poll in the US
Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift are living in leagues of their own right now, each dominating completely different artistic worlds. On one hand, you have Reynolds, who is fast becoming the biggest superstar in Hollywood after pulling off a record-breaking box office collection this summer with Deadpool & Wolverine. On the other hand, there is Swift, who has already cemented her place as the (second) greatest pop star of the century, thanks to her billion-dollar tour and unmatched streaming numbers.
Despite their massive success, Reynolds and Swift share a bond that is practically family-like. But there is still one area where Reynolds might have outshined Swift, and it has nothing to do with their careers, their accolades, or even their bank accounts.

Taylor Swift might be ruling the world right now, but when it comes to picking a celebrity roommate, most Americans have someone else in mind. It is Ryan Reynolds- the actor, businessman, and now, apparently, the ideal roommate. According to a new survey by Zillow, Reynolds is America’s favorite celebrity to live with. He got 17% of the total votes, leaving Swift behind at 14%. Following them were Zendaya, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, Timothée Chalamet, Chappell Roan, and Glen Powell.
Emily McDonald, Zillow's rentals trends expert, summed it up perfectly in a statement, "Who wouldn't want a roommate who balances blockbuster movies, family life and business ventures with effortless charm?". But while Reynolds may have won the overall vote, Zendaya took the top spot among Gen Z, with 19% of them picking her as their ideal roomie. This is a little surprising, and perhaps sort of disappointing for Reynolds, especially when considering the lengths the MCU superstar has gone to connect with the younger crowd.
Throughout the Deadpool & Wolverine promotions, Reynolds went all in to make sure Gen Z noticed him, and it paid off big time.
Ryan Reynolds' strategies to connect with Gen Z fans
Deadpool & Wolverine smashed the box office with over a billion dollars, and a lot of that success came down to Ryan Reynolds’s quirky, out-of-the-box marketing tactics. At Disney’s D23 fan convention, chief brand officer Asad Ayaz also agreed to it. And these tactics were wild, to say the least. He showed up in character for the ‘Chk Chk Book’ music video with K-Pop stars Stray Kids, joined a YouTube cooking competition with Gordon Ramsay and his 22-year-old daughter, and even dragged Hugh Jackman along with him.

Their promotional tour also included a European Championship soccer match, a stop at a London chicken shop, and even a water balloon festival. Reynolds’s focused on creating shareable, laugh-out-loud moments that would go viral online. This strategy was key to connecting with the Gen Z who spend more time on social media, YouTube, and video game ads than watching TV commercials or movie trailers. Nonetheless, even though Reynolds did not top the list for Gen Z, he is still the most 'roommate-able' star- and not just for Blake Lively.
